3rd Day Palawan Lagoon Tours

Chilling by the private pool

Chilling by the private pool

We woke up early again and made the most of the free breakfast. As usual, we were late because someone took their time in the bathroom or writing work emails. We were with the same group as yesterday. A couple from Singapore and a couple celebrating their 25th anniversary. The lagoon tour was far more Instagram worthy than the cave tour. At this point, you'll know that the bearded man in heavens knows his stuff!

We snorkled by the big lagoon. The reef was intense. I should have brought a rash guard . The effects of the bites will be felt tomorrow-stay tuned. We went snorkeling in the big lagoon. I saw a school of squid that just love to stay pit and stare, a school of barracudas, three sea turtles, hundreds of species of fishes, different colored starfish and a lot of corals note to people. This was the second time that I wished that I Invested on a GoPro.  After I realized that I was bitten by what they guessed are plankton, small jellyfish or sea lice, the brought out a first aid kit and sprayed the bites with vinegar.

We also went to a smaller lagoon that can be accessed by kayaks. Listen closely to the kayaking instructions it will just save you a lot of trouble from hitting limestones and getting scrapes from little crevices and narrow passages. Better yet, get a boyfriend/ fiancé who is an expert in kayaks. ;) After the lagoon tour, we had a meal of Chicken Inasal in the pool grill. It is by far my favorite dish in the island. And we spent the rest of the day in the infinity pool by our beach villa.

I suggest that you bring your own antihistamines and your own first aid kit with waterproof bandaids. We got cuts from the corals rocks and other activity related objects while hiking and etc. There are also some wildlife that may enter your private villas. Finding out your newly discovered allergies during your vacation in a place without a pharmacy or a Duane Reade nearby is a nightmare. I may sound so high maintenance, but I lost the only hair tie I brought to the island, so I had my hair whipping my face 40x a minute on every boat ride annoying. My only bottle of Cetaphil exploded during the trip, so i had to deal with itchy skin for 5 days.  I can't stress enough to pack your daily grooming and beauty essentials well, because it will be hard to replace them. Renting a boat in the island will cost you P6000 ( around 120 USD) just to get to the nearest town, and the nearest tertiary hospital is a helicopter ride away. Once again, pack essentials well
